Rangers travel to face Ross County on Sunday with hopes of closing the gap on Celtic which currently stands at 11 points.

Several issues on and off the pitch have plagued Rangers this season but a three-game winning run has somewhat suppressed some of those concerns.

An emphatic 6-0 hammering of Kilmarnock added to the momentum of Phillipe Clement’s side ahead of the clash in Dingwall on Sunday (8 December).

Preview

The Gers were able to close the gap on second-place Aberdeen to just four points in midweek thanks to their win against Kilmarnock, while the Dons succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Celtic.

That four-point gap could be reduced even further when taking into consideration their game in hand over Abderdeen.

However, an 11-point gap from the top remains prominent and Rangers must keep up this form to have any chance of closing that.

An away clash against Ross County should see victory for Clement’s men with the hosts having won just three times so far this season.

If the Gers can use the momentum from their recent fun of victories, there is no reason they shouldn’t be coming away with less than three points on Sunday.

Team News

Clement will largely have a full squad to pick from for Sunday’s encounter with just two long-term absentees.

Tom Lawrence and Ridvan Yilmaz are both out for the game having missed 10 and 21 games respectively.

After Wednesday’s thumping of Kilmarnock, the Belgian will be pleased to have received no new injury scares.

As for the hosts, they are fortunate enough to have no long-term absentees and will have a full squad raring to go against the Gers.

Predicted lineups

Ross County: Laidlaw, Wright, Efete, Leak, Brown, Randall, Nisbet, Reid, Chilvers, White, Hale

Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Souttar, Balogun, Jefte, Raskin, Hagi, Diomande, Cerny, Igamane, Danilo

Where to watch?

Sunday’s encounter will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football with a kickoff time scheduled for 12 pm GMT.

Prediction: Ross County 0-3 Rangers

Clement’s sdie are in good form at the moment and their momentum should easily carry them through this encounter against a side who have tasted victory on just three occasions this season.

Performances have improved drastically in recent weeks and a win will be crucial to their hopes of maintaining pressure on league leaders Celtic.

In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd left Neil Lennon in hysterics with a comment made on Wednesday.
