Simon Jordan has criticised the Rangers hierarchy for the ownership model live on talkSPORT.
John Bennett has come under fire in recent weeks and months for his influence on the Gers’ decline in his role as chairman since April 2023.
Now while speaking on talkSPORT on 20 August (12:27pm), former Cyrstal Palace chairman Jordan has slammed the board setup at Ibrox.
He said: “I was rather unimpressed with the calibre of the Rangers guys when I met them.
“I discussed with them various things regarding the ownership model and didn’t come away thinking, ‘wow, this is forward-thinking, these are ambitious guys’.
“It’s not easy running a football club – I know. I also know what winning looks like and what losing looks like. Rangers and Celtic have the ability to have capable people running their operations.”
Rangers board slammed live on talkSPORT
It won’t come as a surprise to Rangers fans to hear the people who are running their football club are being called out for their ideas.
The club have basically gone backwards ever since Giovanni van Bronckhorst left the club in the Scottish Premiership and on the European stage.
The league form has fallen off and the chances of winning a title haven’t been there since Steven Gerrard was manager.
Although the likes of Philippe Clement and Michael Beale have to take some of the blame, the club has been a mess at board level.
This ranges from the financial mismanagement of the club to issues as simple as not having a stadium to play in.
The Ibrox controversy has tipped many fans over the edge with Bennett and Co. as it shows a fresh level of mismanagement at the top level.
If the likes of Jordan are calling it out from afar, it won’t be long before supporters reach the end of their patience.
