Six current Premier League players who have publicly stated they support Arsenal

Arsenal are one of the biggest football clubs on the planet.

The efforts of superstars such as Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp – led by a truly innovative coach in Arsene Wenger – captivated young football fans all over the globe back in the early 2000s.

As such, and for other reasons of course, many grew up supporting the Gunners – including some household names.

The likes of Piers Morgan, Anne Hathaway and Idris Elba are all known to support Arsenal, although there are actually some current Premier League footballers who hold the Gunners close to their heart too.

Six active Premier League stars are Arsenal fans

A current Premier League player has actually managed to secure his dream move to Arsenal in Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukraine international has already admitted his love for the Gunners, telling Arsenal: “I always watched Arsenal. People know I was an Arsenal supporter when I was a kid. That was because I loved watching players like Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Dennis Bergkamp too. I watched him but mainly I was watching a bit later, when Robin van Persie was up front with Henry.”

Matt Turner

Like Zinchenko, Matt Turner also realised a childhood dream when Arsenal signed him from New England Revolution in June 2022.

The United States international told the Evening Standard: “I mean it’s not really the best story ever about supporting Arsenal. It was after the World Cup in 2010 I bought my first game of FIFA and when it says, ‘What club do you want to support or select?’… obviously ‘A’ came up first and Arsenal was there.

“But, also I made that connection because my sisters both played for a local club team that was called The Arsenal, and so I just made that connection right there and kind of stuck with it.

However, Turner did not spend long with his favourite club, as Mikel Arteta sold him to Nottingham Forest in August 2023.

Aston Villa No.11 Ollie Watkins is also a self-confessed Gunner.

The England international said (via Football London): “I used to (support Arsenal). I grew up supporting Arsenal.”

Watkins, who Ian Wright wanted at Arsenal, also once said he dreams of playing for the north Londoners, stating: “That’s the dream, to play for Arsenal one day, but, you know, it’s a long shot.”

Emile Smith Rowe

Like Zinchenko and Turner, Emile Smith Rowe has also represented the club he supports.

A Hale End graduate with 115 appearances for Arsenal under his belt, the England international – now with Fulham – once said (via Arsenal): “Being an Arsenal supporter even before I joined, I used to watch people like Thierry Henry and all those legends, even though I was quite young myself at the time. But then I remember watching Mikel play for us as well, I was about 13 I think when he was captain, and I just remember how composed he was as a player.”

Chelsea No.10 Mykhailo Mudryk revealed his love for Arsenal during that infamous transfer saga in January 2022 – when the Blues outbid the Gunners for his signature despite the Ukraine international quite publicly pushing to join the Gunners.

At the time, he said (via talkSPORT): “Yeah. I check on them in MyScore and know when they’re playing.”

Mudryk is currently suspended after allegedly failing a doping test.

The Republic of Ireland international made it known he supports Arsenal in a hilarious video released by Tottenham – when Spurs actually signed the defender from Wolves.

Tottenham proposed that the Irishman – now back at Wolves – scrolled through his X (previously known as Twitter) account to delete posts he once sent cheering the Gunners on.
