‘Something could be possible’: Emmanuel Petit says £50m striker would be a great signing for Arsenal

Arsenal’s search for a new striker has taken them all around the houses in recent years.

Indeed, Arsenal have been linked with a number of strikers in recent months.

Alexander Isak is an Arsenal target, while Arsenal genuinely thought they were going to sign Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

Arsenal didn’t manage to sign Sesko, nor did they land any other number nine.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Emmanuel Petit has been discussing which striker Arsenal should sign, and he says that Victor Osimhen is a player Arsenal should go after.

Arsenal should sign Victor Osimhen

Petit named the £50m striker as the attacker Arsenal should go and get.

Osimhen has been a target for Arsenal in the past, and Petit is a real advocate of this signing.

Petit also named Rafael Leao as a player Arsenal should get. Interestingly, the Gunners have recently been linked with Leao.

“Who’s a name that springs to mind who Arsenal should target as a striker?” Petit was asked.

“I really like Osimhen. He’s actually in Turkey at the moment with Galatasaray. I think he’s on the radar of PSG actually. I also like Leao from AC Milan. Who knows? It’s difficult in transfer windows in January to get the big names coming, but with the new format of the Champions League, maybe something could be possible,” Petit said.

Victor Osimhen compared to Arsenal strikers this season

Petit has named Osimhen as the striker Arsenal should be trying to get, and it’s not hard to understand why.

Osimhen is a top player, and he’s been delivering this season, despite being in a tough situation in a new environment.

In terms of numbers, Osimhen has been out-performing Arsenal’s attacking options.

Of course, you could argue that the Turkish Super Lig is quite a weak competition, but Osimhen has been doing the business in Serie A for a long time.

Osimhen certainly has the talent to lead the line for a team like Arsenal, and with the Gunners still lacking that clinical finisher, perhaps this is someone the north London club should go in for.

Arsenal don’t plan to do much January business unless the right opportunity crops up, and a player like Osimhen becoming available may well represent the right opportunity.
