'Soon': Fabrizio Romano has just shared late-evening Matias Soule transfer update

Leicester City, West Ham United, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have all been fairly busy in the summer transfer window over the past few weeks.

The Foxes, who have just returned to the Premier League, have made four signings, while the Hammers have three new recruits.

Meanwhile, Villa have made seven new signings, and Palace have brought two new players in at Selhurst Park.

It looks as though all four clubs aren’t planning to stop any time soon, with plenty of links between them and a host of players.

One such player is Matias Soule, who plies his trade for Juventus and has been tipped to leave following a superb season on loan at Frosinone.

West Ham, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have all expressed an interest in Soule, but Leicester appear to be showing the most concrete interest at present.

Indeed, Fabrizio Romano has now shared a late-evening update regarding the Foxes’ pursuit of the 21-year-old Argentine winger.

Leicester make ‘best proposal’ for Matias Soule as decision looms

Romano has taken to X to report that Leicester have made the best proposal to Juventus in the shape of a package in excess of £25.2million.

The transfer insider reiterated that Soule prefers a move to Roma, but a decision will be made “soon”.

What kind of player is Soule?

Matias Soule is a 21-year-old forward who featured on the right wing, as a second striker and as a No. 10 on loan at Frosinone last season.

The Argentine left-footer made a real name for himself at the Italian club, registering 11 goals and three assists from 32 Serie A outings.

Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout previously described Soule as a ‘Messi-esque’ talent who ‘can really produce magic’.

Meanwhile, Former Juventus player Davide Lanzafame told Tuttojuve in March: “He is a stratospheric player and for me it would be a mistake to sell him.

“He is having an incredible time at Frosinone, my hope is that he can stay in Turin and demonstrate his value.”

It looks like Leicester are ahead of their Premier League rivals in pursuit of Soule, but Roma will be a tricky opponent to see off in the race for his services.
