Super Eagles and Rangers striker, Cyriel Kolawole Dessers made all the difference for the Scottish side as they secured all three points against Hearts this evening, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 29-year-old experienced a short drought of goals as he was without one for eight games until last week against Motherwell. Since then he’s found the back of the net against Olympiacos and now, Hearts.
Philippe Clement’s side are currently suffering from multiple injuries to key players, which in turn, means the ones that are fit can barely get any rest. Leon Balogun started his first league game since last month Robin Propper wasn’t fully fit.
The Gers started on the front foot at Ibrox, keeping the game intense in the opening five minutes. A poor corner clearance saw Rangers build the ball back into Hearts’ box.
The ball fell kindly to Rangers’ captain, James Tavernier, who drilled a low shot back across goal and Dessers poked a toe to the ball to change its direction and score his fourth league goal of the season.

The Nigerian striker, who’s always blown hot and cold for Rangers came under fire for missing chances last week, and missed a chance to double his side’s lead six minutes later, sending his shot wide. As the game went on, both sides seemed jaded and nobody wanted to take any more risks.

Despite Rangers’ win, they’re still far off competing for the league as they’re nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen.
