Former Chelsea youth coach, Jody Steven Morris, has warned Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest full-back, Ola Aina, to tone down his off-pitch jabs towards his opponents, Soccernet.ng reports.
Aina scored a scorcher in Forest’s 3-0 win over West Ham at the City Ground a few weeks back, and the strike left everyone stunned.
After the game, the former Torino man revealed he was sure he’d hit the back of the net as soon as the ball left his laces. Upon further dressing room celebrations, the Chelsea academy graduate was seen saying Forest sent the Hammers back to East London where they belong.
The statement didn’t go down well with Morris, and he aired his opinion alongside former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand.
“I know Ola, was a great kid, and he’s a personality as well, but when you talk about sending teams back to where they come from is where you got to be careful. There’s a little line there you can’t cross.
I don’t think you ever want to limit people’s personality because that’s what they are.
Physically, he’s an absolute specimen, he can play with his right and left foot. He’s a lovely footballer and he can probably impose himself on games a little bit better, especially with what he has in his locker.
It’s always nice to see people you’ve had an affinity or relationships with do well, I’m happy to see him do well,” the former Swindon Town manager said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.
Aina has featured in all of Forest’s games in the English Premier League this season. His contract with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side expires next summer, and he’s been linked with a move to AC Milan.
