Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says his former club look too much they are trying to avoid losing matches and not going out on the front foot like Liverpool are doing.

The Reds are top of the Premier League table with just one defeat in 15 games so far this campaign, while the Gunners are six points off the pace despite having played a game more.

The legendary French striker appeared on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football this week and pointed out issues with Arsenal’s lack of dynamism at the moment.

He feels they are too reliant on Bukayo Saka, with their attacks becoming so predicatable in open play that they now have to rely on set-piece goals.

But chiefly he thinks it is an issue with attitude and aggression and not going out to be ruthless and kill off the opposition.

‘A lot of things need to change in order to win the Premier League,’ Henry told Sky Sports of Arsenal.

‘It’s in the question, you said the word ‘winning’ the Premier League. When I see Liverpool play it looks like they’re trying to win it when I see other teams play it looks like let’s not lose it. If you go and win the league, you have to go and grab it and win it.’

He added: ‘When you watch Arsenal, the only way right now we look like we might be scoring is on a set-piece. We beat Man United, but we didn’t create a lot.

‘They’re very predictable. You’re not going to say it’s not good to score from set-pieces, it is outstanding.

‘When you are in trouble at Arsenal, you give the ball to Bukayo Saka. It’s predictable, the ball is going to go to Bukayo Saka and it’s easy to defend.

‘People adapt to what you do, what are you going to bring the year after and year after? Set-pieces are coming but don’t go away from what you were and what you were creating before.’

Arsenal have the chance to gain ground on Liverpool when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday before the Reds go to Tottenham on Sunday.
