Tottenham open to Richarlison offers with transfer on cards already

Tottenham are open to transfer offers for Richarlison amid interest from Fluminense, Mario Bittencourt says.

In a press conference on Monday [16 December], the Brazilian outfit’s president revealed that the North Londoners were willing to listen to inquiries for the former Everton striker, who is out injured at the moment.

While the Lilywhites aren’t interested in parting ways with the 27-year-old right now, Spurs are willing to listen, with the Rio de Janeiro-based club also in talks with the Brazilian forward.

As relayed by Globo, Bittencourt said: “Tottenham responded that they are open to the offer. But they are not currently interested in getting rid of the player. But they are willing to listen. We are also talking to the player to see if he is interested in returning.”

Richarlison needs to fight for Tottenham future

The North Londoners have struggled to replace Harry Kane since his move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

Richarlison was seen as the England skipper’s successor at the Lilywhites by many, but the Brazil international has failed to live up to expectations.

The 27-year-old’s stint at Everton was successful, but fitness issues in N17 have meant that the forward has been unable to stake a claim in the starting lineup.

Tottenham signed Dominic Solanke in the summer from Bournemouth, and Ange Postecoglou has heavily relied on the Englishman, who underwhelmed in the 5-0 victory over Southampton on Sunday [15 December].

Richarlison has made just seven appearances in all competitions, starting in zero Premier League fixtures.

The Brazilian has shown glimpses of his talent at Spurs in spurts, but if Fluminense makes a decent enough offer, it will make sense for the North Londoners to cash in on the striker.
