Rangers attacker Oscar Cortes is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes of a game until the year ends, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims he has been caught in a vicious cycle with regards to his fitness and is finding it hard to get out of.
Philippe Clement said on 27 November that while the Colombian is back in the first part of training, he’s still expected to be out for a few weeks.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “This is an example of a player caught in a vicious injury cycle – some of it being misfortune as his latest injury was due to a knock in training.
“I imagine his return to matches and full 90 will be a longer runway to account for those dents in fitness.
“Clement says it will be a few weeks and I do not see him playing a full game until 2025.“
Oscar Cortes has shown plenty of promise at Rangers
Gers have been extremely unlucky as Cortes has not managed to maintain a run of games where he’s been at a 100 per cent.
He has shown plenty of promise and in the initial days, he thrilled the Ibrox faithful with his pace and directness.
Hopefully, he can start the new year positively and become a first-team regular under Clement or whoever the manager is.
In other Rangers news, the club have secured one of the best backroom hires in a real coup for the Ibrox outfit.
