Lucas Bergvall shone once again for Tottenham Hotspur in preseason despite losing 2-1 against Bayern Munich.

The 18-year-old came on for the second half and, alongside Yves Bissouma, helped change the tide for Spurs.

This was after a Bayern onslaught in the first half that made it nearly impossible to play out from the back like Ange Postecoglou demands.

There is no doubt that contributed to Djed Spence being pickpocketed allowing Gabriel Vidovic to score the opener after just four minutes.

The introduction of Bergvall at half-time helped to steady the ship and make Tottenham better, though.

The one-cap Sweden international has taken to life with the Lilywhites like a duck to water and has had a positive impact during pre-season.

Bergvall was substituted on because the first half against the Bundesliga giants was difficult for Archie Gray and James Maddison.

The starlet signed from Djurgården was entrusted and showed exactly why, showing bravery and maturity on the ball, which Postecoglou will have absolutely loved.

Across his 45-minute cameo, the midfielder was afforded 41 touches of the ball and he kept up 76 per cent pass accuracy. As well as this, the Swede maintained a 75 per cent dribble success [FotMob].

Although not completely perfect, he showed that there was no fear of getting on the ball and looking to pass or dribble forward where possible.

The defensive side of his game was also on show with a 100 per cent tackle success rate and seven ground duels won.

Although Spurs couldn’t get the result Postecoglou may have wanted, the second half showing with Bergvall at the centre of that is certainly reason for positivity.
