The Friedkin Group have shown they know how to increase commercial revenue – and that is great news for Everton.
The Toffees finally look set to have new owners after the US businessman received the green light from the Premier League in a “huge” moment on Merseyside [Sky Sports].
After initially agreeing on a deal in September, there has been plenty of optimism over a takeover but now appears to be on the road to completion by Christmas [talkSPORT].
Dan Friedkin has a large job on his hands when he confirms his ownership but arguably the biggest problem that needs solving is the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium sponsorship.
The prospective new owner has plenty of experience and evidence from his time with Roma to prove that he can make the most out of a deal.
Dan Friedkin to help earn Everton lucrative Bramley-Moore rights deal
The 59-year-old has been in charge of the Serie A outfit since 2019 and has seen plenty of success on the pitch in that time.
Friedkin has also shown that he knows how to make the most out of commercial deals to help improve the balance sheet. This will come as a boost at Goodison given the mess that Farhad Mohsiri found himself in, in recent years.
The Swiss Ramble has revealed (13 December) that Roma made £92.6million from commercial revenue in 2024, up by 30.5m from 2023.
£18.4m of that came from sponsorship in a 68 per cent increase in just 12 months, this will pique the ears of the Toffees as they go in hunt for a naming rights partner for their new stadium.
In October, finance expert Kieran Maguire suggested that a sponsorship could be worth up to £200m in a multi-year deal and there is good reason to suggest that Friedkin has the expertise to find the most lucrative deal for the club.
It is clear that the American has experience in this domain and it is great for the Goodison faithful to feel that the Toffees are finally in safe and capable hands.
In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has suggested that the Premier League have drawn a line under the takeover saga at Goodison.
