There are still some off-field issues at Liverpool with the Mohamed Salah set to be out of contract next summer along with some other big names.
According to reports, Liverpool have shown interest in Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt as a potential attacking addition.
But sources at Anfield have now provided some light on these suggestions ahead of the January transfer window.
What Liverpool sources have said about signing Omar Marmoush
As per The Athletic, Liverpool sources have now suggested that reports of talks held over Marmoush are wide of the mark.
It is said this response has come from a senior figure at the club with Liverpool still left in limbo over some of their significant contract issues.
But it is not only those at Liverpool who are denying any contact over Marmoush with Frankfurt’s sporting director, Timmo Hardung, also saying the same.
Salah has suggested Liverpool should sign Marmoush already with reports claiming the Egyptian has made a strong case for his fellow countryman.
Although TBR Football understands no talks have taken place, a number of Premier League clubs are aware of Marmoush.
Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have scouted Marmoush already with Liverpool set to face some fierce competition for the attacker.
Omar Marmoush is excelling in the Bundesliga
After an impressive 2023/24 campaign, Marmoush has been valued around £50m by Frankfurt after interest arriving over the summer.
Marmoush has been hailed ‘outstanding’ and is going from strength to strength at Frankfurt as he’s looking like an incredibly reliable source of goals.

Although the Egypt international largely plays through the middle, he has shown the versatility which Liverpool appreciate across their front three.
And it has been claimed Frankfurt are likely to sell Marmoush next summer with their main objective just to keep him for the remainder of the campaign.
