Whether Arsenal will have option to buy Raheem Sterling included in loan from Chelsea - journalist

Arsenal have left it late to complete the final pieces of their business but the Gunners are producing the surprise ending to this summer’s window.

The clock is now ticking on Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar’s hopes of seeing one more final arrival at Arsenal.

But the signs are looking positive as the Gunners edge ever closer to the signing of Raheem Sterling.

It is believed Arteta personally requested Edu looked into the possibility of Arsenal signing Sterling this week.

With the hours ticking by, Arsenal are now into the final moments of the window to land themselves an agreement to sign the Chelsea winger.

Whether Arsenal have an obligation to buy Raheem Sterling

It is not just Sterling who the Gunners have been linked with as Kingsley Coman was also a reported option for Arsenal.

One piece of business Edu has gotten over the line is the Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto who has also signed on loan today.

And it looks as if Arsenal could be about to double their return of signings for the summer on deadline day alone.

According to Sami Mokbel, it is not expected for Arsenal ti have the obligation to buy Sterling in the deal.

It appears as if it is going to be a straight loan with Chelsea for the signing of Sterling who was expelled from Enzo Maresca’s side.

It has certainly been a rollercoaster of a deadline day for the Gunners with reports claiming Arsenal had actually passed on the opportunity to sign Sterling.

But they now look to be about to pull off the deal to provide Arteta with a much needed support for Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal ending the window in style

What an ending to the window this could be for an Arsenal side who are gunning for the title this season.

Coming into the summer, Arsenal needed a new forward to bolster their frontline with some big names on their radar.

It is believed Nico Williams is still Arsenal’s number one target for the long term so the potential signing of Sterling could be a smart move.

Next summer, Arsenal can potentially go again for Williams with the knowledge they have not panicked and bought a winger who they are not convinced is their long-term option.
