£6m+ update emerges as Rangers want to sign centre mid at Champions League club - report

Rangers will have to pay north of £6million to sign Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark ahead of Celtic, Leeds United, and other interested clubs, according to Paul Gorst.

The Liverpool Echo journalist claims that the Reds are not actively looking to sell the 19-year-old and value him higher than £6million.

RB Salzburg tried to test the waters with a bid in that region, but the Merseyside outfit turned it down.

After claiming Gers are among the clubs keen on signing him, Gorst responded to the £6million bid as he told Anfield Index: “Way short of their valuation.

“I don’t think Liverpool are actively looking at selling Bobby Clark.

“He’s a player with a huge future and I think Liverpool are quite relaxed at the moment.”

Bobby Clark can strengthen this Rangers XI

The teenager could significantly strengthen the Gers XI with his technical skills, versatility and potential for growth.

At just 19 years old, Clark has already made a mark at Anfield, featuring in 12 games last season and showcasing his abilities in both domestic and European competitions.

His ability to play across midfield positions adds flexibility to the Gers lineup, while his youth promises further development and improvement.

Clark’s experience in high-pressure games, including the EFL Cup final and Europa League games show he’s ready for a first-team role.

His inclusion in the squad could inject new energy and creativity, especially in the absence of experienced midfielders Ryan Jack and John Lundstram.

Moreover, if it is a loan move, it would be a strategic approach by Liverpool, a Champions League club, to further his development, which could benefit the Glasgow club in the short term.

In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement’s number one priority has been revealed as more transfers are eyed ahead of the 30 August transfer deadline.
