Adama Traore reveals what Pep Guardiola told him after Manchester City beat Fulham
'He is the best coach in the world, without a doubt.'
Adama Traore has revealed that Pep Guardiola was giving him finishing tips after Fulham’s defeat to Manchester City last weekend.
Marco Silva’s side were beaten 3-2 by the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium last Saturday but had plenty of chances to come away with at least a point from the game.
Three of the best opportunities fell to Traore, who missed three one-on-ones against Ederson after being put through on goal.
After the game, Guardiola made a point of speaking to the pacey Fulham winger on the pitch before he headed down the tunnel.
‘I’ve known him for a few years, but it’s always appreciated,’ Traore told El Larguero about his chat with Guardiola.
‘He is the best coach in the world, without a doubt.
‘After the game he came up to me to tell it was a good game, he gave me some pointers on how to finish the chances I had against them.
‘I met him at Barca. When I arrived at Aston Villa I also had a call with him and he has always been friendly.’
Speaking about his current situation at Fulham, Traore said: ‘I am happy, I have learned a lot from everything that has happened to me in this time.
‘The team is doing well, I feel good, I think we played well in the last game.’
Traore also revealed that he was sent a whole box of baby oil after joining Fulham in order to help stop defenders holding him.
‘After my shoulder injury, the doctor recommended it to me,’ Traore said.
‘He told me that they had analysed the images and that they were trying to stop me by grabbing my arm. When he told me about the oil, I thought it was a joke.
‘The first time I used it, the defender saw me and asked me what was wrong with my arm, that it was slipping. Then I came to Fulham and a brand sent me a whole box.’
