Alan Myers predicts how many players Everton may sign before 30 August deadline

Everton may sign one or two more players before the transfer deadline, according to a prediction made by Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports news editor is unsure as to exactly what positions or how many players will move to Goodison Park after what’s been a busy summer at the club.

Sean Dyche will be hoping to improve on the performances of last season and reach the 40-point mark as quickly as well.

Myers wrote on X: “I have none atm, I wouldn’t be surprised if two more came in, but I have no evidence to back it up tbf.”

The club’s current squad depth at these positions is precarious, with there being a lack of adequate cover in some areas, which could be exacerbated by injuries or fatigue over the season.

Farhad Moshiri and co. have not been transparent or proactive in their transfer dealings, potentially leaving the team vulnerable.

A new left-back would provide balance and tactical flexibility, especially in a season where competition is fierce.

Moreover, the midfield is often the engine room of any team and with Amadou Onana leaving for Aston Villa, there’s a void in that area of the pitch.

Therefore, acquiring a midfielder who can offer both defensive solidity and creative play would not only bolster the squad but also allow for better rotation, ensuring freshness and tactical adaptability throughout the campaign.

Hopefully, Myers is right and there are at least two new signings before the transfer window shuts on 30 August.
