Alan Myers shares if Everton takeover will be done by start of new season

An update regarding the takeover of Everton has been shared by Alan Myers following reports that it has hit a “stumbling block”.

The journalist was asked on X on Sunday (July 7) if he had any news regarding Dan Friedkin and his attempt to purchase the Toffees.

Myers was quick to reply, saying that the takeover “remains ongoing” but it will be a “while” until everything is finalised.

He then added he doesn’t “personally think” that it will happen before the start of the new Premier League season.

The claim comes amid suggestions that the Friedkin Group are reluctant to pay their debt of almost £200million to 777 Partners, which is seen as a “stumbling block” by Bryan King.

King told Goodison News: “The main stumbling block for the Friedkin Group is that they don’t want to pay off the money owed to 777 Partners.

“That is one of the main problems with the takeover process. However, I imagine it will be sorted in some shape or form.”

Will Everton takeover still take place?

The future of Everton is uncertain as Friedkin’s takeover hits a snag. Reports say his group owes nearly £200m to 777 Partners, which is causing some problems.

Despite some insiders still thinking the deal could happen, this debt issue could be a big deal.

For Everton fans, this must be really frustrating. They were hoping new ownership would bring good things, but now it could all be up in the air because of money problems again.

It’s a reminder of how complicated buying a football club can be.

There’s still hope that they can work things out, but supporters want it to be completed now. The next few months will be very important for the club.

Evertonians are anxious to see what happens next and if their club will change hands after all.

In other Everton news, Dan Friedkin will not be president if a takeover at Goodison Park is completed.
