Alan Myers shares if Everton will sign any new player as defender seals Goodison transfer

Everton are likely to bring in more faces through the door after signing Jake O’Brien, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports news editor claimed on 31 July that there might need to be some players leaving Goodison Park first.

Thus far, the Toffees have signed Jack Harrison, Iliman Ndiaye, Jesper Lindstrom, Tim Iroegbunam and most recently, O’Brien from Lyon.

Myers wrote: “I can’t believe we won’t do something else, when and who is another thing, I think we probably need to see some exits.”

The Toffees’ need to sell players like Mason Holgate and Neal Maupay is crucial as it would help the club raise funds to finance new signings.

Everton have already made several acquisitions this summer and selling players would provide the financial resources to continue strengthening the squad.

Secondly, offloading Holgate and Maupay would free up space in the squad and potentially reduce the wage bill.

This would allow the Merseyside outfit to bring in new players who can contribute more effectively to the team’s success.

Additionally, selling players who are not part of Sean Dyche’s plans would also help create a more cohesive and focused squad.

Apart from Holgate and Maupay, there could be other players as well whom the club are willing to listen to offers for.
