Arsenal emphatically secured bragging right and three points in the London derby after their 5-2 Premier League win against West Ham United away from home.
Goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka effectively sealed the game for the Gunners before the internal, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson Palmieri got their names on the scoresheet for the Hammers.
With Liverpool and Manchester City set to lock horns tomorrow at Anfield, the Gunners knew they had to get the job to stay within touching distance of the two teams and they did just that by leapfrogging the Cityzens.

It was an eventful game of football at the London Stadium and pretty much everything Arsenal touched turned to goals.
And former Gunners goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski – who was between the sticks for West Ham – came under the limelight for his performance.
West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianki enjoys torrid outing against Arsenal
West Ham were blown out of the water by Arsenal as they raced to a four-goal lead but they did pull two goals back before the interval.
And although Fabianski couldn’t have done much to prevent any of the first four goals the Gunners scored on the night, he played a huge role in their fifth.
The Polish goalkeeper came out to punch a cross and missed the ball altogether as he appeared to punch Gabriel in the head.
Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty and Saka stepped up from the spot to increase Arsenal’s advantage.
However, the Englishman’s spot-kick was at a saveable height and Fabianki even guessed right, but he couldn’t prevent the ball from going into the back of the net.
After conceding the penalty, the experienced goalkeeper had a chance to make amends but failed to take it as he appeared to come under criticism from Gary Neville.
“It was not a great penalty – he [Fabianski] gets there and should save it,” said Neville live on Sky Sports.
Arsenal fans react to Fabianski’s performance
Fabianski played 78 games for the Gunners before moving to West Ham and the Arsenal faithful feel the experienced goalkeeper did his former team a huge favour today.
@Iss_Craig wrote: “We need to chill on Fabianski tho, he’s an Arsenal legend,” while @danjh97 said: “Fabianski, always a Gunner.”
Some Arsenal fans criticised him for punching Gabriel, who was substituted at halftime with a suspected concussion.
@midz_mb said: “Fabianski really banged him in the face, he’s tired of Gabriel from these corners,” while @paddypower wrote: “Fabianski v Gabriel was a far better fight than Paul v Tyson.”
