Arsenal fans were impressed with Mikel Merino after he made his long-awaited debut on Tuesday night (1 October).
The 28-year-old signed for the Gunners during the summer transfer window but was dealt a serious blow in his first training session when he suffered a shoulder injury during a freak accident.
The midfielder has been recovering ever since, but was handed his official Arsenal debut in the Champions League win against PSG.
Mikel Arteta’s side won the game 2-0 via goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, continuing their undefeated start to their European campaign.
One of the big positives from the game was Merino being able to kickstart his season as he replaced Thomas Partey in the 64th minute.
Merino won 100% of his duels after coming on, which was a positive situation for the midfielder after battling an injury.
Arsenal fans praised ‘phenomenal’ Mikel Merino
Even though Arsenal fans only got a glimpse at Merino, they were happy with what they saw from his “impressive” debut.
