Arsenal fans have torn into Gabriel Martinelli after he combined a wobbly display with missing a glorious goalscoring opportunity against Bournemouth.

The Gunners saw their undefeated start to the 2024-25 Premier League campaign come to an end at the Vitality Stadium as the Cherries won 2-0 after goals from Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert.

Mikel Arteta’s side were fighting against the odds after William Saliba was sent off in the 30th minute, and the Londoners were never able to break down their opponents.

Martinelli did have a big opportunity in the 68th minute when the game was goalless, but he was unable to take it as his shot was straight at Kepa.

Bournemouth opened the scoring just two minutes later and Arsenal were never able to respond afterwards.

The result leaves Arsenal in third place before Man City and Liverpool play later this weekend, with Arteta’s men set to face the Reds next weekend.
