Barcelona have been hamstrung in the transfer market by the unpaid €40m that they sold a percentage of Barca Vision for to German investment fund Libero, but are close to resolving the matter.
In order to register players for next season without La Liga restricting what money they can invest, Barcelona will need to get back within their salary limit, something they cannot do without the unpaid €40m. However both Sport and Diario AS report that they hope to announce a deal to cover that cost in the next week or two, with one of their current investors picking up the slack.

Barcelona are also due another €60m in payments for the 2024-25 season, and the Catalan daily note that this is also expected to be covered by current investors, and will be announced in mid-August. Socios, Orpheus Media and Libero have informed the Blaugrana they will not be putting up the money they owe, causing Barcelona to look elsewhere. It is also noted that while Barcelona were due to submit their financial accounts for the 2023-24 season at the end of June, they have a three-month leeway to do so, giving them until the end of September.
Culers would be forgiven for waiting before they allow their excitement to grow. It would not be the first time that it has been leaked that Barcelona will rectify their finances, only for proposed deadlines to pass by without event. The current root of their issues, Libero, were supposed to make their first payment in mid-August of 2023, while it had been reported previously that Barcelona would be back within their salary limit before July.
