Billionaire finds new allies to complete Everton takeover bid - report

John Textor has found new allies and is aiming to complete a deal with Farhad Moshiri to buy Everton, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist reported to his Patreon on 11 August that the American billionaire is looking to dump his shares in Crystal Palace.

Goodison News learned that the 58-year-old retains an interest in purchasing the Toffees and he has now back-up from other sources to do a deal.

Textor was overlooked in the last round of bidding but has now made contact with leading figures at Goodison Park in a fresh bid.

After the disappointing failure of a takeover from Dan Friedkin, the Toffees are still in desperate need of a new owner to take over from Farhad Moshiri.

It appears that the Crystal Palace shareholder could be keen to drop his shares in the Eagles, potentially preferring a swap to Everton.

The problems may come with the debt that the club owe to 777 Partners and A-Cap which resulted in Friedkin stepping away from a deal.

It does seem that the American billionaire is willing to deal with that and sort out any problems that the club may have with money owed.

A move to Goodison may be halted by his conflict of interest with Palace which may arise as a deal potentially moves closer to completion.

The prospective owner is said to be growing frustrated at Selhurst Park but it remains unclear whether he can easily jump ship in a Merseyside swap.
