Chido Obi-Martin sends message to Man United legend after deal agreed

Man United youngster Chido Obi-Martin took to social media to post a picture of him meeting club legend Eric Cantona.

The 16-year-old agreed to join the 20-time Premier League champions over remaining at Arsenal back in July but the deal was delayed after the two clubs couldn’t agree to an acceptable compensatory fee.

As per Fabrizio Romano, all the issues have now been ironed out and Obi-Martin can now be considered a Man United player.

The young striker represented both England and Denmark at the youth level and was part of the Denmark side, which reached the U17s Euros semi-finals this year.

Obi-Martin is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in world football, scoring 10 goals in a single Under-16s game against Liverpool.

The Manchester club were able to offer something that Mikel Arteta and Arsenal were unable to, a clear pathway into the first team.

The youngster took to Instagram to share a picture of him meeting legendary Frenchman Eric Cantona at an EAFC25 event.

Obi-Martin will sign his first professional contract with the Old Trafford club as soon as he turns 17 on 29th November.

Erik ten Hag’s side next face a resurgent Tottenham side at Old Trafford on Sunday (September 29) as they hope to put a frustrating Europa League draw with FC Twente behind them.
