'Daily contact': Granit Xhaka reveals the three Arsenal players he still speaks to all the time

Granit Xhaka made the switch from Arsenal to Bayer Leverkusen last year, ending his seven-year stay in North London.
The Switzerland international enjoyed a phenomenal debut season at Leverkusen, winning the Bundesliga without losing a game.
So when asked about how he viewed the transfer from Arsenal, Xhaka made it clear that he certainly didn’t take a step backwards in his career.
“It wasn’t a step back for me. Because I had the feeling, during discussions with the coach and with Simon Rolfes, that something special could happen here in the next few years,” he told German outlet Bild.
In the interview, Xhaka also revealed that he still speaks to three players at Arsenal.

Xhaka revealed that he’s still in regular contact with Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus.
“When you play for a club for seven years, the return is always special. Especially because of the people from before,” the 31-year-old said.
“I had a wonderful time at Arsenal and I am still in daily contact with many players and the staff. From the team, especially with Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus. I’m looking forward to the game, a very strong opponent. An opponent that we also have to prepare for the Champions League.”
Xhaka is due to return to the Emirates on Wednesday when his Leverkusen side take on Mikel Arteta’s men.
He’s expected to get a warm reception from The Gunners faithful after racking up just shy of 300 appearances for them.
