Doctor: Everton player unlikely to return to 100% fitness until next season after injury

Everton striker Armando Broja will not likely be back to 100 per cent fitness after his injury until next season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that due to his current Achilles issue, he’s unable to play first-team football and is currently in the non-contact parts of team training.

He would likely be given minutes with the Under-21s first before he is brought back into the first-team fold after joining on a loan-to-buy from Chelsea in January.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Broja: “It sounds like he is getting to the final stages of return to play as he’s currently in the non-contact parts of team training and should advance to team training by next week, per Dyche.

From there, it will be a gradual ramp up to get game minutes to build up his fitness, rhythm and confidence.

“This would likely include minutes with the Under-21s before he’s ready to be brought off the bench in senior games.”

“Once he does return, it still takes an extensive amount of time to get back to 100 per cent fitness, likely not until next season.

Sean Dyche will be awaiting Armando Broja Everton debut

Broja has had a tough run with his injury issues and will be hoping that he can return to full fitness soon.

Sean Dyche will also be awaiting his recovery as he’s watched his side struggle to score goals this season.

It remains to be seen if the Albanian is viewed as a regular starter or if the Toffees boss uses him as an impact sub.
