Rangers defender John Souttar now appears to have returned to being at one hundred per cent post his injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as the Scotland international has played 90 minutes five times since 20 October, it’s a good indicator of his fitness levels.
The 28-year-old missed the St Mirren clash on 27 October due to an injury but has since been everpresent for the club.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “Once he returned from injury, it sounded like he would’ve needed a late fitness test.
“While the club would’ve tried to mitigate injury risk initially, the fact that he’s played the full 90 minutes five times since 20 October would suggest he’s back at hundred per cent and the risk of re-injury is negligible.“
John Souttar has been a mainstay this season for Rangers
After Connor Goldson’s exit in the summer, Philippe Clement turned to Souttar to marshal the backline.
While the club have not been exceptional defensively, there have been improvements and the Scotsman has done a much better job than Goldson.
His centre-back partner Robin Propper is still struggling to adapt to his new surroundings and hopefully, that will happen sooner rather than later.
In other Rangers news, an update has emerged on the club exercising the option to buy for Neraysho Kasanwirjo.
