Rangers striker Danilo is not yet at a 100 per cent after his injury setbacks since moving to Ibrox, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while he is in full first-team training and even played 12 minutes against Hearts on 10 November, he is still working towards being at his optimum condition.
The 25-year-old suffered back-to-back long-term knee injuries which saw him spending months on the sidelines.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “He’s had some really difficult moments with injuries – starting with the facial fracture then two consecutive longer-term knee injuries.
“It is a positive that he has been included in the matchday squads recently and played few minutes off the bench.
“He’s been training with the first team so that’s also a good sign but he’s still some way away from being at a 100 per cent.“
Rangers must be very careful with Danilo’s minutes initially
It makes a whole lot of sense for the Ibrox outfit to monitor his minutes carefully as there’s always the risk of reinjury.
Players who spend months out on the sidelines are often at higher risk of facing a setback right after they return.
Hopefully, Danilo is given some behind-closed-doors games to play in during the international break so that he gets used to the rhythm of professional football.
