Doctor shares 'Best Case Scenario' verdict on Danilo injury ahead of Rangers v Kilmarnock

Rangers attacker Danilo is not expected to start the game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on 20 October, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the best-case scenario for him would be to be on the matchday squad as the club are unlikely to hand him a start right away.

The 25-year-old has just played one game for the club this season and managed to find the back of the net in that one.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “He’s had some really difficult moments with injuries – starting with the facial fracture then two consecutive longer-term knee injuries.

“If he does return to first team training after the break, I reckon he would be one to two weeks away from bounce matches if everything goes according to plan.

“It would be highly unlikely for him to be ready to start this weekend and the best-case scenario would be him being named on the matchday squad.”

It would be highly unlikely that Danilo returns to the starting eleven after months of barely featuring for the first team.

The Brazilian striker missed the majority of last season through injury and has faced different concerns this time around as well.

Hopefully, he can make the bench against Killie and if things go well, he could be named among the substitutes.
