Eagled-eyed Arsenal fans spotted Gabriel Magalhaes’ secret set-piece signal in Tuesday’s Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka saw the Gunners cruise to victory against the French champions under the lights in north London.

But there was one moment in the match which has gone viral on social media, and it came right before Saka’s goal from a set-piece on 35 minutes.

Saka’s near-post delivery from wide on the right-hand side went through a crowd of bodies and past PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to make it 2-0.

Just before the set-piece was taken, Arsenal defender Gabriel was seen gesturing with his hands towards his teammates.

Arsenal supporters are convinced that Gabriel was secretly telling his teammates that Saka’s ball was coming in low.

‘The communication and delivery was top notch,’ Arsenal fan @sirHongiz posted on X. ‘That PSG defence had no idea what hit them.’

Another Arsenal supporter, @zak_afc, insisted that ‘Gabriel was definitely telling the players this one is coming in low’.

@mirasi123, meanwhile, said: ‘It was planned. They have been terrified of our inswinger to the back post corner and there were even reports that they would drop Vitinha because his last of height compromised their set piece defending.

‘They overcompensated at the back post and we took advantage. Beautiful.’

@Silti_Afc added: ‘Apparently on French TV, they have a reporter on the ground, they said [set-piece coach Nicolas] Jover tells [David] Raya the play/instructions and then Raya relays it to the players.

‘So I think Gabriel’s signal was to Raya confirming the call.’

Arsenal fans will be watching Saturday’s clash against Southampton looking out to see if they can spot the secret set-piece signal again.
