Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Mohamed Salah if he leaves Liverpool at the end of the season when his contract expires.

The Egyptian forward is into the last year of his deal at Anfield and with no signs of extending his stay on Merseyside it looks likely he will move on in the summer.

The 32-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, with Liverpool rejecting offers for him last year from the mega-rich division, but there remains the chance that he could stay at the top level of European competition.

The Sun report that PSG are very interested in snapping up Salah on a free transfer and would be willing to offer him a three-year deal, despite his 33rd birthday coming up in June.

Salah may be deep into the latter half of his playing career, but he is still in exceptional physical shape and his form shows little sign of tailing off.

With Liverpool making an impressive start to life under Arne Slot, Salah remains a vital part of the side, scoring six goals in the first nine games of the season.

The report states that Salah would prefer to keep playing at Champions League level at this stage of his career rather than take the step down in quality to the Saudi Pro League.

PSG have changed tack in the transfer market somewhat, focussing less on signing stellar names for huge transfer fees.

Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar have now all left the club and the team boasts fewer players of the highest profile currently.

However, the chance to snap up a Premier League legend on a free transfer would be very appealing to the French club as they continue their search for a first Champions League title after numerous near misses.

Salah scored in the 3-0 win at Manchester United last month and revealed that no one at Liverpool had spoken to him about a new contract, so he can only assume he is in his last year at the club.

‘I was coming to the game, I was saying, “look, it could be the last time”,’ Salah told Sky Sports.

‘Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts so I was just like, “OK, I play my last season and see at the end of the season”. I feel I am free to play football. We will see what happens next year.’
