Everton have been named as a possible landing spot along with Fulham, Brentford and Bournemouth for Ernest Nuamah, per the Daily Mail.
The news outlet reported on 18 November that the Toffees were also keen on signing him in the summer and his proposed move to Fulham fell off.
The Lyon winger’s stock is not as high as it was in the summer and an exit could be on the cards for him.
Everton do not need to bring in another winger in January
Given their summer acquisitions of Jesper Lindstrom and Iliman Ndiaye, signing another winger is counterproductive.
These signings already bolstered their attack, providing depth and versatility.
Instead, the squad desperately needs reinforcement in other key areas to address current deficiencies.
In midfield, the team lacks the depth needed to maintain performance levels throughout the season, with Amadou Onana leaving, James Garner being injured and Idrissa Gueye’s age.
Up front, the striker position remains thin, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s issues persisting and Beto potentially on his way out due to lack of game time. [Tuttosport]
Additionally, at left-back, the situation is precarious with the lack of an out-and-out replacement for Vitalii Mykolenko.
The incoming owners are unlikely to look at the squad and think another winger will address their issues on the field.
In other Everton news, a Toffees managerial target has already applied to another English leaving, making things urgent for The Friedkin Group.
