Everton offered Borussia Dortmund striker - report

Everton have been offered the chance to sign Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund, according to TEAMtalk.

The outlet reported via their website on 13 August that the striker’s entourage have given the Toffees an opportunity to move for him after a transfer to Marseille ran into trouble.

The teenager is still expected to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer, and has interest in La Liga, so Everton are said to need to move quickly as there has been no action following the initial contact.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 13 August that talks between Dortmund and Marseille were set to fail but Moukoko was still “planning to leave” the Westfalenstadium.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin linked to Everton exit

Everton are considering replacements at the striker position due to uncertainty around their current options, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s potential exit the necessary trigger to bring in a new name.

The England international has rejected the offer of a new deal at Goodison Park and has entered the final 12 months of his current contract.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja is another candidate should the Toffees start depart, and is keen to do head to Merseyside from Stamford Bridge [i News, 12 August].

But offers are currently not forthcoming for Calvert-Lewin so any new arrivals may be blocked during the current window.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be moved on by Everton this summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

Moukoko’s move to Ligue 1 was set to be a loan deal with a buy option [Romano, 3 August], which would fit with the reduced spending power at Goodison after three permanent signings this summer.

At 19 he already has 99 Dortmund appearances to his name with 18 goals and eight assists, as well as 12 in 13 games for Germany Under-21s.

Everton are pursuing a loan deal for Kalvin Phillips to fill the need in midfield and Manchester City are willing to sanction such a move [Times, 13 August].

That would fill the final domestic loan slot and end the possibility of landing Broja if a striker was required late in the window, so Moukoko could be an attractive prospect.

But if it any move hinges of Calvert-Lewin departing the German might be gone by the time that comes into play.
