Everton players' stance on Sean Dyche sack emerges as Friedkin set to seal takeover - journalist

Everton players continue to believe in Sean Dyche and do not want the Friedkin Group to sack him after the takeover, according to David Anderson.

The Mirror journalist wrote on 30 September that it would also make sense for Dan Friedkin and his group to stick with the manager given his expertise in avoiding relegation.

That is likely to be the primary target for the Americans once they’re expected to complete the takeover formalities by December.

The Friedkin Group must stick with Sean Dyche until Everton are mathematically safe from relegation

Dyche’s track record at Burnley, where he not only steered the club to promotions and a European qualification but also kept them in the Premier League for several seasons against odds, speaks volumes of his capability in managing under pressure.

His tenure was marked by pragmatic football and a knack for getting the best out of limited resources, which are crucial skills for the Toffees’ current situation pre Friedkin.

Given the club’s fate, a relegation battle is likely to be on the cards and Dyche’s expertise in stabilising Burnley as well as doing the same thing at Goodison Park suggests he’s the right man for the job.

His immediate retention by the Friedkin Group would provide continuity amidst change, allowing the new owners a window of four to five months to evaluate his performance under their regime.

At the end of the season or when relegation is no longer a mathematical possibility, they can make the call over his future.

It’s also imperative that they have their desired managerial targets ready to go in case they decide to sack the Englishman.

In other Everton news, the club have breached another code and have taken action after an investigation was launched.
