Everton show interest as Euro heavyweights set to let midfielder leave - report

Arthur will be allowed to leave Juventus in the January transfer window with Everton eyeing a potential transfer for the Brazilian, according to Diario Sport.

The media outlet reported via their website on 14 October that the midfielder’s “liberation” from European heavyweights Juventus has already begun.

The Toffees aren’t the only side interested in acquiring his services, however, as Marseille and Gremio have also thrown their hats into the ring.

Everton should sign Arthur from Juventus

Everton were linked with a move for Arthur throughout the summer window and although a move didn’t come to fruition then, now could be the perfect time for him to come in.

The Toffees were quite heavily changed in the summer window and, while plenty of players were brought in, it feels like more could come from Sean Dyche’s men.

Tim Iroegbunam and Orel Mangala were the two additions Everton made to the centre of the park and while the former had a solid start to the season, his injury has kept him sidelined for a rather long period of time.

This has left the likes of Mangala, Idrissa Gueye and James Garner to hold down the fort and, while they’ve done a decent job, the creativity the Juventus man would bring to the team would be second to none.

He had a solid season with Fiorentina last term as he chipped in with six goal contributions and although he hasn’t played a minute for Thiago Motta this season, it’s evident that there’s still a solid player within him.
