Exclusive: Everton, West Ham & Crystal Palace in chase to sign £12.7m star on loan

Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace are chasing Bosnia midfielder Armin Gigovic following his impressive display against England, sources have told Football Insider.

Gigovic, 22, is valued at around the £12.7million mark, and could be available on loan this summer after an 18-month loan at FC Midtjylland, due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The defensive midfielder is now entering the final year of his deal with Russian outfit FK Rostov and may leave for nothing next summer after another loan move.

He made his debut for Bosnia and Herzegovina against England on 3 June, having previously represented Sweden at both youth and senior level.

After playing 82 minutes at St James’ Park, Gigovic’s performance, as well as his availability, has attracted interest from watching clubs across Europe.

Gigovic has been a standout performer for FC Midtjylland this season, helping them win the Danish SuperLiga, while making 35 appearances in all competitions.

His 53 total games for the Danish club include appearances in both the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

Having been involved in the Sweden squad as recently as March, the midfielder opted to switch his nationality amid an overhaul in the Bosnian national team.

In 2020, aged just 18, Gigovic was tracked by Arsenal and Manchester City while playing for Helsingborgs, with clubs across Europe following his progress – as reported by Football Insider.

The possibility of a free transfer next summer, on top of a loan deal which would require no fee, has now made him a target for multiple clubs across Europe.

With Everton trying to balance their profit and sustainability concerns, while Palace and West Ham look to strengthen under new managers, the three clubs have entered the race for Gigovic’s signature.
