Goodison View: Dyche must hand debut to 'Exceptional' Everton gem as footage emerges

Omari Benjamin only joined the Everton academy ranks this summer but he could already be in line for his senior debut.

The 18-year-old has spent most of his youth career at Arsenal, where many clubs have taken notice of his incredible skill, his burst of pace and a keen eye for goal. He even stepped up to the Under-21s level.

However, the forward announced his exit from Emirates Stadium in May after five years with the Gunners [Instagram], choosing to join the Toffees despite much interest in him.

With the exciting attacker now within the ranks at Finch Farm, Benjamin is loving life with the Merseyside club, even assisting in his first appearance for the U21s during a 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.

It comes as no real surprise, with the youngster being dubbed as “exceptional” in The Guardian’s Next Generation 2022 article, and Dyche may have to provide him with the chance to prove himself in the first team.

Sean Dyche to hand Omari Benjamin senior debut at Everton?

While it was Jacob Beaumont-Clark who got all the praise for a last-gasp winner against Watford in the Premier League Cup on Friday 13 September, Benjamin is the real star.

The 18-year-old’s incredible piece of skill to find space before threading the pass through to Beaumont-Clark is near-perfect, and certainly the kind of play Dyche needs in the first team.

The Toffees missed out on the chance to bring Vitor Roque to the club this summer, leaving just Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto as the main attacking options this season.

Benjamin could offer a very different figure through the middle, and although Calvert-Lewin has hit the back of the net, something needs to change after three opening losses in the Premier League.

Of course, it would be a huge step-up for the 18-year-old, but Dyche needs more attacking reinforcements if the Toffees are to stay above the dropzone this season.

In other Everton news, a journalist has raised the Toffees as an example as the Premier League are told Manchester City will not win their PSR case.
