Sean Dyche may have to step into negotiations as Everton are now at risk of missing out on Martin Braithwaite.

According to Greek news outlet Sport on 17 July, Olympiacos manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has met with the 33-year-old who’s linked with a move to Goodison Park.

While the Toffees have made an offer for the Danish striker [Mundo Deportivo, 2 July], Olympiacos are understood to be the favourites [Quique Iglesias, 17 July] and Dyche needs to do what Mendilibar is doing in order to secure a last-gasp hijack.

Dyche could enlighten the Denmark striker about the club’s rich history and give him the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

The Toffees boss can highlight the club’s ambitions to compete for European places and the potential for Braithwaite to be a key player in achieving those goals.

Additionally, he can also discuss the style of play he envisions for the Toffees, which could appeal to Braithwaite’s strengths as a striker.
