'Here we go': Romano says Haaland-like striker linked with West Ham now joining London rivals for £35m

West Ham United have been busy over the past few weeks as the club’s board seeks to give Julen Lopetegui all the tools he needs to hit the ground running.
The Hammers hit the ground running by signing Luis Guilherme before swiftly adding Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman to their ranks.
West Ham then made three more signings in quick succession early in August, landing winger Crysencio Summerville, striker Niclas Fullkrug and midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
Chances are the Hammers aren’t done yet, with talks reportedly continuing over a deal for Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
However, there will invariably be targets that slip through the net. One player who was linked with West Ham earlier this summer is now closing in on a move to a London rival.

West Ham target Samu Omorodion set for Chelsea move
The player in question is Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, and Fabrizio Romano has declared “here we go” on Omorodion to Chelsea.
In June, Spanish outlet El Desmarque named West Ham as a possible destination for the 20-year-old.
However, it looks as though the Hammers cooled their interest in Omorodion, instead going for Fullkrug.
Now, Romano has reported that the Spain Under-21 ace is set to join the Blues for £35million, with a seven-year contract on the cards at Stamford Bridge.
“Bayer Leverkusen and more clubs tried to enter race but Omorodion joins Chelsea,” added the transfer insider.
Samu Omorodion likened to Erling Haaland
Omorodion enjoyed a productive loan spell at La Liga side Alavez last term, scoring nine league goals en route to 10th in the Spanish top flight.
His promising displays earned him a debut for Spain’s Under-21s in September, and he has now scored twice in seven international outings.
According to FBRef data, Omorodion is of a similar profile to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
He would’ve no doubt been a good shout for West Ham, but it looks as though their interest wasn’t as concrete as that of Chelsea.
