Nottingham Forest are close to completing a big name signing as they look to continue to build for the new season.
The Reds are looking to build on last season and ensure they bring in the right players over this summer to ensure there’s no battle again relegation next season.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is being backed by the board once more and after seemingly overcoming PSR issues, Forest can now sign players.
Forest have already completed deals for goalkeeper Carlos Miguel and Newcastle winger, Elliott Anderson.
However, it looks like more new signings could be on the cards and according to Fabrizio Romano, one potential deal is now close to being done.
Nottingham Forest close to signing Nikola Milenkovic
According to Romano, who has taken to his X account to share an update, Forest are closing in on the defender for around £12m.
Indeed, Romano has suggested that his now famous ‘here we go’ on transfer deals is coming very soon.
The ‘extraordinary‘ Fiorentina star has been tracked by Premier League teams in the past, with the likes of both Arsenal and Tottenham having watched him.
Milenkovic played for Serbia at the Euros and will be very much seen as a coup by Forest fans.
Whether or not Forest will do much more business in the window, remains to be seen.
Having been docked points last season, the club will be wary of getting into a similar situation once again.
Likewise, key players like Morgan Gibbs-White are still at the club despite interest from others and Forest fans will be hoping they can keep those players.
Milenkovic, meanwhile, will bring steel and quality to the Forest defence which, at times last season, proved to be a touch leaky.
