'He's going to be...' - Lennon lauds Everton ace after what he's done recently

Aaron Lennon believes Iliman Ndiaye is a “match-winner” and will be key to the success of Everton this season.

The Toffees have had a poor start to their 2024/25 Premier League campaign, with the club finding themselves 19th in the table.

Sean Dyche’s future has even been brought into question because of their form, with the manager wanted out by some fans, but Ndiaye’s form has been the one shining light from within the team.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (23 September, 9:24am), Lennon shared his thoughts on the importance of the former Marseille man to Everton, while praising Sean Dyche for moving him out wide.

“He looks like a player. I’ve watched him a few times now and you need these players in a Sean Dyche team,” Lennon said.

“You need these players who can do something out of nothing and he’s a match-winner with a lot of ability. I like the way he’s put him to the left now.

“I think putting him to the left and Dwight [McNeil] through the middle has really showed what he can do – he’s going to be a big player for them”.

Everton need to get back to winning ways

Due to the recent poor performances of the Toffees, the future of Dyche’s job has been consistently brought up [GiveMeSport, 24 September].

Not only are the club second from bottom in the Premier League but they’ve also managed to bottle two-goal leads twice already this season.

Now, all the blame can’t be placed upon the former Burnley manager’s head but the fact that Michael Keane is starting over Jake O’Brien is mind-boggling.

The former Lyon ace was brought in to help shore up the Merseyside outfit’s defensive ranks and rather than giving him a go, Dyche has chosen to stick with Keane despite his below-par performances.

While there were murmurs of the Irishman potentially starting over the Englishman against Leicester due to his potential injury, Dyche still didn’t believe he was ready to be used.

If things don’t improve soon, it’s hard to see how Dyche would manage to keep his job beyond January.
