Philippe Clement has been left gushing over Vaclav Cerny as Rangers finalised a deal to sign him on loan this summer.

The club confirmed the deal on 26 July in the afternoon with the VfL Wolfsburg winger moving to Ibrox until the end of the season.

The Belgian roped in the 26-year-old due to the experience he brings to the table at Ibrox.

He said, as quoted by Joshua Barrie: “Very pleased he is someone with a lot of quality and high value, he’s shown that at international level, in Holland and the Bundesliga. Like I said, we would not get only young players in. We had to rebuild and get young players in for the future but also experienced players who know in every situation what to do in the pitch.”

Cerny brings a wealth of experience and skill to Ibrox, making him a valuable addition to the team.

As a seasoned international player with 17 caps for the Czech Republic, including appearances in the Euro 2024, the 25-year-old has proven his ability to perform at a high level on the international stage.

His experience in the Eredivisie and Bundesliga further enhances his credentials.

At Twente, Cerny showcased his attacking prowess, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 32 appearances during the 2022/23 season.

This performance highlights his ability to contribute significantly to the team’s offensive efforts.

Cerny’s versatility, playing predominantly on the right wing but also capable of operating in the central attacking midfield role, provides Rangers with tactical flexibility.

His technical skills, including his ability to cut inside and shoot with his left foot, make him a potent threat in the final third.
