Liverpool are in Premier League action this Sunday when take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
Arne Slot’s Reds, who are flying high in the Premier League and Champions League, will face a Spurs side that has shown they can hammer anyone on their day.
Tottenham have hammered the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Aston Villa in the league, and have also got past both Manchester sides in the Carabao Cup.
However, Spurs have also recorded some poor results this season, losing to the likes of Ipswich Town, and having several first-team defenders out hasn’t helped matters.
The Liverpool boss, speaking at his pre-match press conference, delivered his verdict on Tottenham as he rubbished what he’s been hearing about Ange Postecoglou.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot supports Ange Postecoglou’s attacking style at Tottenham
In recent months, Postecoglou has been getting criticism for sticking to his guns with regards to attacking football, with mixed results.
Meanwhile, Slot is baffled by the notion that you can play “too attacking football” and willed Postecoglou to win a trophy so he can silence his critics.
“They’ve always been a certain brand in football for me and have a certain identity,” the Liverpool boss told the Reds media team. “I think Ange Postecoglou gives them that identity back completely.
“It’s every time a joy to watch them and sometimes results once in a while go against them, but I think they were one of the teams that beat City, like us, not all of them, beat them in the manner like we and Tottenham did, because it was completely deserved in these two situations… it’s great work that Ange is doing over there.
“I hope this has been seen a bit more. I also hope, hope, hope that he wins a trophy – not the League Cup! But I’m completely a fan of his team for the Europa League because people always talk about trophies, trophies, trophies [and] that it’s so important.
“For his brand of football and his style, it is so much more important and if he can combine that with winning something that would be so good for football in general because people can stop talking about it’s too attacking or whatever. How on earth can you play too attacking football?”
The kind of criticism Postecoglou has been getting over his style
Jamie Carragher recently slated Postecoglou’s approach and refusal to switch to defensive tactics.
He said: “I wake up every morning, and if the sun’s shining I put a pair of trainers, shorts and a t-shirt on – but if it’s raining, you put your coat on!
“You can’t have this idea about ‘we’re going to do this and have our way of playing football’, it won’t work! If it doesn’t change, he won’t be here next season.”
Meanwhile, Jamie O’Hara said about Postecoglou’s style: “I’m sorry, I know everyone loves Ange in terms of attacking football… I’m getting bored of watching this.
“Set pieces, playing out from the back should be banned. The straight ball playing out from the back should be banned in football. It is never on and Spurs do it every game. We are painful to watch.”
