Ibrox View: Another Rangers exit seems inevitable as behind-the-scenes move revealed

Rangers have handed the number 7 jersey to summer signing Oscar Cortes which was previously worn by Ianis Hagi, according to the Scottish Sun.

This seems to be as clear an indication as any that they’re planning for life without the Romanian this summer.

Had there even been a glimmer of hope that the 25-year-old was staying, the club would not have worked behind the scenes to strip him of his number.

Even though Cortes wanted the number if Philippe Clement had even some intention of Hagi staying, the club wouldn’t have gone ahead with the request.

Hagi is expected to be among the next ones out of the door along with James Tavernier and Connor Goldson with Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram and Borna Barisic already leaving the club.

Ianis Hagi does not seem committed to Rangers either

The attacker himself does not fancy staying at Ibrox with his agent making comments about him finding a new club as well.

Ahed of Euro 2024, Hagi himself revealed that he’s told his agent to look for alternatives and that appears to be happening sooner rather than later.

Gers must aim to maximise the transfer fee for Hagi to ensure they can reinvest in the squad effectively.

Rangers must create a bidding war for Ianis Hagi

To achieve this, they should leverage Hagi’s desire for a new challenge and his agent’s comments to create a competitive market for his services.

By engaging with multiple clubs and encouraging bids, Rangers can drive up the price and secure the best possible deal.

In other Rangers news, the club are now set to make a bid to seal summer transfer No.7 with James Tavernier’s sale funding it.
