Philippe Clement is expected to name only one change to his Rangers side for the Scottish Premiership clash against Hibernian.
The match on Sunday [29 September] has become highly anticipated among supporters with Ibrox to be at full capacity for the SPFL tie.
Clement will hope to use the momentum gained from the 2-0 win against Malmo in the Europa League to welcome back a full Ibrox for the first time this season.
Vaclav Cerny left a lot to be desired in his performance in Sweden and his replacement Ross McCausland secured the three points with his second-half strike and could be rewarded with a spot in the starting lineup at the Czech forward’s expense.
Ross McCausland is proving his worth to Rangers
Jack Butland, barring injury, is always expected to remain between the sticks for the Gers and the match against Hibs will be no different.
The Light Blues’ defence was excellent in the Europa League and held the hosts to zero shots on target on their home patch. John Souttar and Robin Propper have now established themselves as the preferred centre-back pairing and it will take a lot for the pair to be displaced at Ibrox and should start again.
James Tavernier is likely to lead out his side at Ibrox and Jefte should face another 90 minutes in the Gers dugout following the exceptional display from Neraysho Kasanwirjo. The Dutchman capitalised on his teammate’s European suspension and has propelled himself to the top of the pecking order at left-back.
The midfield pivot of Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande has become another regular pairing for Rangers and should continue again on Saturday behind the attack.
Tom Lawrence has nailed his spot behind the striker and Clement should have one less selection headache to worry about throughout the season with the midfielder in exceptional form.
Vaclav Cerny should use his time on the bench to reflect on his lack of clinical edge in front of goal with Ross McCausland expected to be rewarded for his decisive Europa League goal with a starting berth against Hibs. It means the summer signing is likely to be axed by Clement.
Nedim Bajrami should line up on the opposite flank, with Cyriel Dessers at the spearhead of the attack despite his poor midweek outing. The Belgian failed to record a shot on target in Sweden and missed two big chances from his two off-target shots [Sofascore].
However, on the occasion of marking the 125th anniversary of Ibrox with a full-capacity match, Clement should honour the occasion with his strongest possible lineup.
