Ibrox View: Rangers player now surely frustrated with Clement, may force exit in January

Ianis Hagi may surely be frustrated with Philippe Clement’s failure to give him game time for the Rangers first team.

On Sunday, 10 November, the Romanian watched Gers struggle to do anything in the final third as they edged out Hearts and won the game 1-0.

Hagi was named on the bench and instead of him being sent on to add firepower in attack, he was an unused substitute.

After a dramatic summer transfer window in which the Romanian even looked to leave Gers on a free transfer and have his contract terminated, he stayed put at Ibrox. [Tuttomercato]

Clement clearly did not want him and for the club too, it was a financial strain as they would have to give him a wage hike of £6000 per week if he played another game. [Daily Record, 22 August]

However, once the window shut and he stayed, it seemed like he would be given a chance to win over the manager’s support.

That said, this season, he’s only managed to make two league appearances – both have been off the bench.

What’s worse is that he’s only got to play 50 minutes and Sunday’s snub may perhaps be the last straw for him.

At 26, he’s still got a good few years ahead of him and he would not want to waste them on the bench.

There’s a very realistic possibility that he pushes for the exit door in the January transfer window and it’s hard to blame him.
