Kris Boyd names one Rangers player in SPFL Team of the Week after Hearts win

Kris Boyd has named Rangers defender John Souttar and Celtic duo Kasper Schmeichel and Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn in his SPFL Team of the Week.

Gers picked up a 1-0 victory against Hearts at Ibrox while their local rivals beat Kilmarnock 2-0 at Rugby Park.

Philippe Clement’s side find themselves in third place – a colossal nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen.

John Souttar was not among the best players for Rangers

Souttar actually had a nervy moment in the game and that could’ve led to the hosts conceding had it not been for Jack Butland’s exploits.

However, if Boyd was to put a defender in from Gers, Jefte had a pretty stellar game and deserved to be included.

Moving forward, Nicolas Raskin and Connor Barron also impressed in the middle of the park and were the main reasons why Clement’s side managed to win the game.

That said, the performance was far from impressive and questions still need to be asked about the Belgian’s management.

In a year, he’s still failed to imprint a proper footballing identity on the side and there are doubts if he is the right man for the job.

Hopefully, the club are speaking to replacements who will be ready to arrive if Clement gets the sack at Ibrox.
