Arne Slot is the new Liverpool manager.
The Dutchman has replaced Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, and it’s fair to say that the gaffer has big shoes to fill on Merseyside.
Slot is yet to work with his full squad due to various Euro 2024 and Copa America commitments, but he has been working at Kirkby with something of a skeleton squad in recent weeks.
Speaking on Anfield Index, David Lynch has been discussing Slot’s training methods so far since arriving at Liverpool, and he says that there’s a feeling that the players are re-engaged, claiming that the coaching staff now feels much younger and fresher.
Arne Slot’s training has engaged Liverpool players
Lynch shared what he’s heard about the Reds’ new manager.
“Someone I spoke to the other day said that the coaching staff feels younger now and fresher and that is something that will help create that positive environment early doors. All of these little changes will re-engage players and they’re trying to prove themselves to a new manager. All sounds positive from what I’m hearing,” Lynch said.
Arne Slot era could be exciting
While replacing Jurgen Klopp is arguably the toughest task in football, it sounds as though Slot is getting off on the right foot.
His training regimes appear to be impressing the players, and that’s before he’s even made a signing.
Yes, there’s a huge element of sadness around the fact Klopp has left, but the German left the squad in a strong state for the next manager to kick on, and that may be exactly what Slot does at Liverpool.
There’s a reason the Reds turned towards the former Feyenoord manager to replace Klopp, and Slot is starting to show why he was considered the best man for this job.
