Dan Bardell believes Sean Dyche could change his Everton tactics ahead of their clash against Aston Villa and says it is “massive” that they do not concede early.

The Toffees travel to Villa Park on Saturday (14 September( desperate for a win against a side they haven’t beaten in the Premier League since 2016.

This has been made all the more important after throwing away a 2-0 lead late on against Bournemouth last time out at Goodison Park.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that Dyche may mix up his side and has outlined how they can avoid defeat.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “It’s massive for Everton not to concede early after the last game.

If they do they’re looking at a long game against one of the best teams in the league. They don’t look like keeping a clean sheet at the moment, they need to keep the game tight.

There could be a change in tact to play on the break.

“(Orel) Mangala is going to come in at some point, I’m not sure if it will be this game but they need to make changes off the back of what happened in the Bournemouth game.

Dyche has got to do something.

The negativity around Goodison was there for everyone to see after defeat in record-breaking fashion against the Cherries.

This has seen Dyche and his players come under pressure from supporters and the media for their start to the new Premier League season.

Things don’t get any easier with a trip to face Unai Emery’s side, who have been one of the league’s best sides since the Spaniard came in.

There is also a chance for Amadou Onana to get one up on his former club which, based on his recent comments, he will want to do.

A change in tactical approach could prove to be a smart move ahead of a trip to the West Midlands to deal with the threat that they pose.
